When we have sunshine - we go OUT! I wish we could be outside every week and we've had decent luck so far this year... I wanted to explore the edges of one of the upper fields at Wixon in the hopes of spotting a Red-tailed Hawk, or a Coopers Hawk... well we didn't find either of those species, but we did see quite a few birds. These bird nerds were EXCELLENT listeners today, answering my bird questions, asking bird questions, sharing bird stories in a way that was respectful not only to their classmates, but also to nature. We had a nice bird walk near the edge of the woods that borders the school. How fortunate these students are to be surrounded by greenery, and other fall foliage colors, right in their own school yard! (double click photos to enlarge)
