Off to another visit to Camp W*K, and I had the habitat scavenger hunt planned for our afternoon together. When you make the connections that there are so many aspects of the world that contribute to the health and well-being of the birds of the world, perhaps you'll take better care of it as you grow. That's certainly one of my direct intentions when I'm outside with kids. It's remarkable where their brain goes and some of the comments that they have when they make these connections. One youngster couldn't bear to part with holding the beautiful nest (please see below).
I look forward to hearing more of their insights on how to make the world a better place by taking care of the habitats that take care of the birds...and us as well. (double click photos to enlarge)
Nest found near the dining hall
Caterpillar (all dried up), potential bird food...formerly.

Checking off found selections on the nature scavenger hunt
Seed pod
Found mammal - Z!
Found spider web & spider
Something a bird might use to make a nest
Great job on your habitat scavenger hunt W*K campers! See you on Friday!
